We want Mash Lab to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to
conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1,
Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather
than a one-time checkbox.
What we've done
Full keyboard operation of the controls, with a visible focus indicator.
Labels and roles for buttons, sliders, toggles, and form controls so screen readers can describe them.
Live status announcements while songs are processing and mashups or reels are rendering.
Text alternatives for icons and a description of the beat-align waveform, with keyboard-accessible nudge and seek controls as equivalents.
Color contrast that meets AA for body text, and a "reduced motion" mode that respects your system setting.
Known limitations
Mash Lab is an audio tool, so the core experience — hearing how two songs
blend — relies on sound. Visual readouts (BPM, key, waveforms) accompany
it, but the creative task is inherently audio-based.
The drag-to-align waveform is operated by mouse or touch. Every function it
offers is also available from the keyboard via the per-deck nudge buttons,
the tempo slider, and the playback-position slider.
